The musical style was mainly flawless mainstream soul-funk-pop and bar songs like the audible example here. The band was designed to get mainstream gigs and did that. Most of the compositions were by Wolfgang Seifert (who also has written a book about the music-software "Logic"). Frontwoman was a fitting singer, the gigs were well received and visited and we had a lot of fun. This ends the story of my bands in the last millenium.*I made a studio job for Wolfgang Seifert in 2000 that was paid but not published (Wolfgang and his promtion agency offered a version with too many compromises to the manufacturers of soft matrasses - and failed. What I had foretelled them. Matrasses are selled by sex and my favorite version of the promotion jingle is very sexy:)You might judge and agree or disagree with that easily:It is the first track in the collaborations area here on the site.* At the end of 1997 I had not reached my self-set goal:to be able to get my income by making music alone over the course of 10 years.Actually it had been more than 15 years.I had played in serveral bands at the same time, I had given lessons in trumpet-playing and vocal-singing.Still - the income was too small. And starting in the midst of the 90s the DJs came like a flood over mankind.People stopped listening to live acts and went to dance their frustration away in clubs.Underlayed by music from the can.I stopped. I took up a job in the camera-selling scene again. I played about 100 egoshooters.I didn't touch my trumpet. I didn't sing. I lead a completely different life for about 10 years.Okay - to be honest: they were intervalls. A studio job. Some new compositions now and then. Two and a half years of resampling all my keyboards-sounds and generating new special sounds by combining them genuinely.Organizing my song archive. Such things.I also did a collaboration with a befriended musician that I knew from the times of my very beginnings: Paul, who had played the sax in the first bands. It was 2002 and Paul (who always had played keyboards too and who had an analogue Moog already when I first met him) was now making electronic music. A sample is in the collaboration section on this site. But - generally - I was in a kind of musical hibernation.* Then, in 2008, I met a woman. I didn't say "I am in the camera-selling-biz" to her when dating her - I said "I am a musician".First time after years. She heard my music. She fell in love with me. She pushed me to start again...I started to be active in the web, beginning on a German review site, following the motto:"Last time all the time was spent in making music. Promotion was neglected. Let's turn that upside down"I started playing again, practicing again, composed new pieces.I did a lot of collaborations ( More than 50) - listen to them in the collaborations' section here.In the year 2010 I also started doing live gigs again:)Video covering of the concerts are in the concert section here on the page.*The majority of the above mentioned concerts was done with electronics specialist Jörg Hütteman as it turned out after a while.Jörg knows a lot of people in the visual arts scene and did the booking. In July 2011 we did a first gig with bassplayer Lothar Blum, and in April 2012 we decided to do more gigs with that personell and found the name "Firefly" for the project.Click the blue button to get to that part of the story please: ... a break ..."This is how you make me feel"(1997, trumpet @ Art Lip, song written by Wolfgang Seifert)All works under Creative Commons License: Here are some:Badges achieved in this millenium http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/ Um alle Inhalte sehen zu können, benötigen Sie den aktuellen Adobe Flash Player. |
