"Insert Coin"was a show band designed to entertain people on students-weddings. And to get some money for it.Quite natural when most of the band members are students too;)We presented mainly 60s + 70s rock-and-soul-stuff. With a really fat brass-section. I didn't play there a single note on my horn on the shows.In exchange I was a successfully smiling entertainer and friendly had to parry old ladies politely all the time, who wanted me to join them in oldfashioned dance (that I don't master) and more (what I didn't intend). We really had a lot of fun !
As I mentioned before, I did a lot of band activities at the same time in 1994.I repeat:"AirRawMüller Experience""Insert Coin""Magnus D"Additionally I got a chance to gig completely solo with my own music.I packed a car with my Atari computer, Roland electronics, trumpet, mikes, tripods, stands and the like to the brim.I drove to the gig location (FZW Dortmund) and dragged it all to stage.My weight was less than 60 kilos at that time - so - you saw a slim Mr. Hercules doing his work.Of course I had spend a couple of weeks before: programming, practicing.The gig was quite a success and I was asked for a cd by 3 women - that I couldn't provide.But: I'm the worst car driver on the planet - I shouldn't terrorize streets at all with my car.And I couldn't provide that cd - it needs a lot of money to invest beforehand:You let press some hundreds or thousands - and then it turns out, that you sell only a splinter of the cd-mountain.A very common fate of many musicians that I didn't want to share.So I sighed deeply - and joined the next band :)
