Schwitters said the Tic-Toc-Man

Band history, Part 5: "Schwitters said the Tic-Toc-Man"

The band was founded in 1986 under the name "Camp Eisenhower". It changed it's name several times - but usually I refer to it as "Schwitters said the Tic-Toc-Man".Especially one name-incarnation "Bebop League" was musically quite misleading.

Bands

"Schwitters said the Tic-Toc-Man"In 1987 we had our first gig under that name - and it was r e a l l y a big one - at the "Ruhr-Rock-Festival". If I remember correctly "Element of Crime" won the prize. There was nothing to criticize of the musical side of our performance - but the live-appearance wasn't judged very friendly by the jury (too inconsistent).Well, ah...mrrhm.. - at the leftmost side of the stage (seen from the public) H.A.Lunke wrapped himself in toilet paper from the head to the toes, flanked by the Tic-Toc-Man in person - my nothingness. Les Kharma entered the stage in a hippy outfit (he n e v e r did that again later), Don + Frank performed in plain undershirts and the highlight of the show was Don dousing himself in milk. Quite a mess and milk tends to get curdled... ^^;) Curt - the bassplayer - was the only one matching to everyone in his neutral outfit. So the outcome was quite mixed..But in the time following we had a lot of very pleasant and successful gigs, while we renamed the band to "Bebop League"-"Schwitters..." was just too long ....We played everywhere, covering open-air-festivals, big halls, everything.

Track : "Cute Exercises"

Track : "Would You Wear my Eyes"

In 1990 Don Chaos left the band to migrate to US. He's citizen of Canada for decades now meanwhile.Diverse signs announcing this radical decision where already visible starting about a year before that.We undertook an attempt for reuniting in the mid 90s under the name "Don Chaos Band" - but it turned out to be impossible to reverse the time stream - so that experiment failed after spending some 3 months in rehearsal room.*In 2011 Don and I contacted again - that was quite lucky, because he meanwhile had changed his name to something less martial than his stage name "Chaos" of course. On October 25, 2011 we agreed to allow the free worldwide download of our best tracks. As the master of that archive I will decide when to publish which track.I will not publish all at once - the free download launching will start on myownmusic.de worldwide exclusively each. Before allowing download, the track must receive at least 5 reviews on MOM each.I am thinking about 1 track every 3 or 4 weeks currently.Only the studio recordings and some other highlights will be available for free - some of the other tracks are here audible via streaming , more may be featured from time to time as part of my series of "surprise tracks" for shorter time periods only but not for download.

Back to my band history, 1990: I turned back to my old buddies (I had left them alone for some time now). Again I played myself perkily from the corridor into the rehearsal room. The boys had landed in the mainstream-jazz area in the meantime. I learned a few standards (mostly cooljazz) and boasted about with the outcome on public sessions. Very soon I was sick to death with that. Half a year later we formed"Concrete Jungle"
